Pay safely

Your money releases only when you approve

Fund each milestone into escrow and the money sits there until you approve the work. No paying up front and hoping. No chasing a contractor who took a deposit and vanished.

Every milestone is paid through Stripe, the same secure checkout millions of businesses use.

No surprise bills

If the job changes, your contractor has to propose the new cost, and you approve or reject it before a dollar moves. Nothing lands on your bill without your say-so.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before starting your project

How come I do not have to pay a fee?

Homeowners do not pay a platform fee. Like Airbnb or Uber, the service fee is taken on the other side before the contractor is paid. Posting a project and managing it is free for you.

What if the price changes mid-project?

Your contractor has to propose any change to the cost as a change request, and you approve or reject it before anything is charged. Nothing is added to your bill without your approval, so there are no surprise charges.

What if my contractor doesn't finish the work?

With escrow, funds stay held until you approve each completed milestone, so you never pay for work that is not done. RenovationRoute keeps the photos, messages, and approvals on the record to help resolve any dispute. (Quick Pay is also available, but escrow gives you the most protection.)

How do I evaluate contractors?

Review ratings, read reviews from past customers, see completed project history, and compare bids side by side. Reviews come from verified completed projects on the platform.
