What is RenovationRoute?

RenovationRoute is a modern platform that connects homeowners and contractors through AI-powered project estimating, secure escrow payments, and transparent project management all in one place.

How is RenovationRoute different from Angi, Thumbtack, or HomeAdvisor?

We are not a lead gen business. RenovationRoute focuses on helping projects get completed which means we do not charge astronomical amount for leads. The problem is not just finding a contractor, it’s ensuring the project is planned clearly, tracked properly, and paid securely. Our platform is built around these core principles to make home improvement simple and fair for everyone.

How does escrow work?

Once a homeowner accepts the contractors quote which included the payments. The homeowner pays before the payment due date and when the work for that milestone is completed than the homeowner approves the payout. This protects both sides and eliminates payment disputes. Learn more on our Trust & Safety page.

Is RenovationRoute free to use?

Posting a project is 100% free for homeowners. A small 1% escrow processing fee applies to payments to cover secure handling and transaction costs.

Do contractors pay to bid?

No. Contractors can bid on projects for free. They only pay a small $20 unlock the customers information. This protects RenovationRoute from lead generation sites that will just copy the lead and sell it.

How accurate are AI generated estimates?

Our AI helps outline scopes, materials, and cost ranges based on your project description and similar completed projects. Nothing is 100% accurate, but normally is in close range. Contractors can adjust and finalize bids for full accuracy before you approve.

Can homeowners and contractors communicate directly?

Yes. Each project includes built in chat and file sharing so you can discuss materials, designs, timelines, and changes. All tracked in one secure thread.

What happens if there’s a dispute?

RenovationRoute’s support team reviews the full project history, including messages, documents, and photos. Funds remain in escrow until a fair resolution is reached. See our Trust & Safety policy for details.

Can contractors invite their team or admin?

Yes. Contractors can add team members. Team members have permissions to everything besides bank accounts access.

Do I need to download an app?

No app required. RenovationRoute works perfectly on desktop, tablet, or mobile browsers no installs or updates needed.

Where can I learn more before signing up?
