Why Builders and Homeowners Trust RenovationRoute
Our platform is built on transparency, security, and simplicity.
No Hidden Fees
You’ll always know what you’re paying for. No markup, no surprises.
Only Pay When You Win
Contractors can bid online for free. If the homeowner selects their bid and they want to unlock the contact information, there is a one time $20 fee, no wasted money on cold leads or unanswered quotes.
Flexible Payment Options
Choose escrow (secure, reduced chargeback risk) or Quick Pay (direct deposit, no approval hold). Both arrive in 1-2 days via Stripe, 1% processing fee.
Built for Both Sides
Homeowners save time and avoid disputes; contractors get paid faster and more reliably. History is there for both sides.
Fast Payouts
Escrow and Quick Pay payouts depend on method: Card (1-2 business days, higher fee) or ACH bank transfer (3-5 business days, lower fee). Both powered by Stripe. Choose what works best for you.

How Payments Work
Set Payment Milestones
The contractor creates a clear payment schedule, listing each item, amount, and due date. This keeps the project organized and expectations aligned before work begins.
Fund Each Milestone
Homeowners only deposit funds for the next milestone when it is due, not the entire project upfront. Choose escrow (funds held securely until work is approved) or Quick Pay (funds sent directly, no approval hold).
Work, Verify, and Communicate
Contractors complete the milestone work while both sides track progress, share photos, and communicate directly through the platform. Transparency is built in every step of the way.
Approve and Release Payment
When the homeowner reviews and approves the completed milestone, funds are released. Both escrow and Quick Pay arrive in 1-2 business days via Stripe. Quick Pay skips the approval hold step. Fast, fair, and fully tracked.

Pricing FAQs
We keep things clear and easy to understand. Here’s everything you need to know about RenovationRoute pricing.
How does the 1% processing fee work?
Whenever a payment is processed through RenovationRoute (via escrow or Quick Pay), we charge a 1% fee to cover secure handling and platform maintenance. This fee applies to both payment methods.
Do homeowners pay anything upfront?
No. Posting a project is free. After the homeowner has selected the contractor and agreed on the price, homeowners will only deposit funds for the next milestone before the due date.
What if a project gets cancelled?
Refund availability depends on payment method and status. Escrow: If funds are still held and haven't been transferred to the contractor, full refunds can be processed. Once transferred, Stripe reversal fees apply. Quick Pay: Since funds bypass escrow approval, refunds must be initiated by the contractor and may be subject to chargebacks.
What's the difference between Escrow and Quick Pay?
Escrow holds funds securely until work is approved (1-2 day payout, reduced chargeback risk). Quick Pay sends funds directly to contractor's bank account without approval hold (1-2 day payout via Stripe, but may be subject to chargebacks). Both have a 1% processing fee. Note: Quick Pay is only available to contractors who have completed 3+ projects and $5,000+ in transactions.
How do contractors unlock Quick Pay?
New contractors start with escrow to build trust. Quick Pay unlocks after completing 3 projects, processing $5,000 in approved payments, maintaining 90%+ approval rating, having account active 60+ days, and zero unresolved disputes.
