RenovationRoute (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information across everything we operate: our website, our homeowner and contractor platform, our federal contracting products, our newsletter, and our business outreach.

Please note: this policy covers people who have never used our services. We build and maintain records about construction firms drawn from public registries and other sources, so that we can match those firms to federal contracting opportunities. If you have received an email from us and never signed up for anything, Section 4 explains where your information came from and how to have it removed.

1. Who We Are

MS TECH ALPINE VENTURES LLC (dba RenovationRoute), a Wyoming limited liability company.

Our Mission: Make construction projects for both the homeowner and the contractor simpler with fewer headaches.

We operate two related lines of business:

The RenovationRoute marketplace - a platform connecting homeowners and contractors for home improvement projects, with secure payments, AI-assisted estimating, and project management. This operates in Michigan, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Wyoming.
RenovationRoute federal contracting products - opportunity matching, alerts, market intelligence, and a construction newsletter for contractors bidding on federal and state/local government work. These operate nationwide.

2. Information You Give Us

a. Account Information

Contact Information - name, email address, phone number, mailing address
Account Credentials - username and password (stored hashed, never in plain text), and optionally a passkey if you choose to register one
Profile Details - user type (homeowner or contractor), location, business name, trade specialties, NAICS codes, and set-aside certifications (for contractors)
Sign-in Identity - if you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from that provider

b. Project Information

Project Details - descriptions, photos, documents, scopes, budgets, timelines
Messages - communications between homeowners, contractors, and RenovationRoute support
Files - uploaded documents, images, contracts, invoices, and project materials

c. Payment Information

Payment Data - processed and stored by Stripe (our payment processor), not by RenovationRoute
Transaction History - payment amounts, dates, milestone approvals, escrow status, subscription status
Bank Account Information - for contractors receiving payments (stored by Stripe)

We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.

d. Team and Company Information

If you are a contractor, we store the team members you invite, their roles, and their individual notification preferences and alert filters.

3. Information We Collect Automatically

Website Analytics - page views, device type, browser, referring source, and IP address
Platform Activity - projects posted, bids submitted, messages sent, opportunities viewed, logins
Location Data - we convert the addresses you give us into map coordinates so we can match projects and opportunities by distance. This is done through Google’s geocoding service.
AI Tool Usage - project scopes, estimates, and material lists generated using our AI features

4. Information We Collect from Other Sources

This section describes how we build our contractor database. Much of this information is about businesses and people who have never used RenovationRoute.

a. Why we do this

Our federal contracting products work by matching construction firms to government solicitations they are eligible to bid on. To do that, we maintain records of construction firms, what work they do, where they operate, and how to reach them.

b. Where the information comes from

SAM.gov - the federal government’s public contractor registration system: business name, address, UEI, NAICS codes, set-aside certifications, and registered points of contact
USASpending.gov - public federal award history: contracts won, agencies, values, and dates
Company websites - we visit publicly accessible business websites and use automated tools, including AI, to determine what trades a firm performs and what areas it serves
Business directories and mapping services - including Google Maps and BuildZoom
Commercial data providers - including Apollo, which supplies business contact records
Email verification services - NeverBounce, which tells us whether a business email address is deliverable

c. What we store

Business contact records, which may include a person’s name, job title, business email address, business phone number, and public professional profile link, together with the firm’s trade classifications, service area, certifications, award history, and a score estimating how relevant our federal opportunity products are likely to be to that firm.

d. How we use it

To match firms to relevant government solicitations, and to contact those firms about specific opportunities and about our products. See Section 6.

e. How to be removed

Reply “STOP” to any email you receive from us, or write to info@RenovationRoute.com. We will suppress your address across every system we operate - email, newsletter, and website contact forms - and we do not require you to have an account to make this request. See Section 10 for your other rights.

5. How We Use Your Information

Analyze usage patterns to improve our platform

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

6. Business Outreach

We send business-to-business email to construction firms about federal and state/local contracting opportunities that match their trade, location, and certifications, and about our own products. Recipients are identified from the sources described in Section 4. This outreach is not limited to people who have opted in.

Our commitments on this:

Every message identifies us and includes our postal address
Every message tells you how to stop receiving them
One reply stops everything. A “STOP” reply suppresses your address across email, our newsletter, and our website contact form outreach. We do not treat those as separate lists you have to opt out of one at a time.
We honor opt-out requests on our next processing run, well inside the ten business days the law allows
We do not send this outreach to consumers or homeowners - it goes to businesses about their business

Marketing to platform users - promotional email about our products, as distinct from transactional and service messages - is sent only to users who have opted in, and you can withdraw that at any time in your account settings.

Text messages (SMS) are sent only to users who have explicitly enabled them in their profile. They are off by default. To stop receiving them, turn text notifications off in your profile settings. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website and platform use cookies and analytics tools.

Essential Cookies - required for login, session management, and core platform functionality
Analytics Cookies - Google Analytics, used to understand how visitors use our pages so we can improve them
Preference Cookies - remember your settings

We do not currently run advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not share analytics data with advertising networks.

You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies will affect platform functionality. If we add advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and put a consent mechanism in place before doing so.

8. Artificial Intelligence

We use third-party AI services, currently OpenAI, for several features. The following information is sent to OpenAI when you use them:

Project descriptions and photographs. When you request AI-generated scopes, estimates, or design visualizations, the project description is sent. If you have attached site photographs and request design visualizations, those photographs are sent as well, so the model can work from your actual space.
Support conversations. When you contact support, the conversation may be sent to help our team draft a reply. A person reviews and sends every reply.
Solicitation documents. Government solicitation text and attachments are analyzed to summarize requirements.
Public business websites. Website content is analyzed to determine a firm’s trades and service area.

We access these services through OpenAI’s business API. Under OpenAI’s published API data usage policy, content submitted through the API is not used to train their models, and we have not enrolled in any program that would change that. We do not control OpenAI’s policies, and we will update this section if they change.

We do not send payment details, passwords, or bank account information to any AI service.

With Other Users

Homeowners and Contractors - when you post a project or submit a bid, relevant information is shared with the other party
Project Participants - team members added by a contractor can view assigned project information, but not the contractor’s bank account details, payment settings, or financial records
Public Profiles - contractor profiles, ratings, and reviews are visible to homeowners

We use cloud hosting and infrastructure providers to run our services. All service providers are required to handle information securely and use it only for the purposes we have engaged them for.

Legal and Safety

Legal Authorities - if required by law, subpoena, or court order
Dispute Resolution - with arbitrators or courts if involved in legal proceedings
Safety and Fraud Prevention - to investigate abuse, fraud, or terms violations
Business Transfers - if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Know and Access - request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and learn where we obtained it
Correct - request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information
Delete - request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
Data Portability - receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format
Opt Out - withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
Object or Restrict - object to or request restriction of certain processing
Appeal - if we deny your request, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response or writing to info@RenovationRoute.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days, and will tell you how to contact your state Attorney General if you remain dissatisfied.

We extend these rights to everyone, regardless of which state you live in or whether you have an account with us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past twelve months. There is nothing for you to opt out of, but if that ever changes we will update this policy and provide an opt-out mechanism before making any such disclosure.

How to make a request

Email info@RenovationRoute.com or write to us at the address in Section 1. You do not need an account to make a request.

Verification: so that we do not disclose your information to someone else, we will ask you to confirm your request from the email address associated with the records, or to provide enough detail for us to match you to our records. We will not ask for more information than we need.

Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you, and may ask you to confirm directly.

We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a permitted extension.

11. How We Protect Your Data

Encrypted Connections - all data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
Secure Password Storage - passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
Passkey Support - you can register a passkey instead of relying on a password
Payment Security - all payment processing handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant)
Access Controls - restricted employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
Rate Limiting and Abuse Protection - on authentication and public endpoints
Regular Security Review - ongoing monitoring, dependency scanning, and security updates
Data Backups - regular encrypted backups

Note: while no system is completely immune to security threats, we regularly review and update our security practices. We will notify you of any data breach as required by law.

12. How Long We Keep Your Information

Active Accounts - as long as your account remains active
Project Records - the duration of the project plus 7 years for legal and tax compliance
Payment Records - 7 years, as required by law
Communication Logs - 3 years for support and dispute resolution
Deleted Accounts - 90 days after deletion (for recovery), then permanently removed
Suppression Records - if you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep a permanent record of your email address on our do-not-contact list. This is the only way to guarantee we never contact you again, and we keep it for that purpose only.
Business Contact Records - reviewed periodically and removed when a firm is no longer active or relevant

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes and preventing fraud.

13. Links to Other Websites

Our website may include links to third-party platforms such as social media pages, government systems, or partner services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit.

14. Children’s Privacy

RenovationRoute does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Our website and services are intended for adults and business owners. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our operations or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes to how we use information you have already given us, we will notify account holders by email.
