Trust & Safety
RenovationRoute has been helping homeowners and contractors work together safely for over 3 years, with over $100,000 in project payments securely processed through escrow. Every feature we’ve built comes from real experiences, real concerns, and real lessons learned on both sides of the job.
FAQs
Home improvement projects can get messy. Miscommunication happens. People disappear. We built RenovationRoute because we were tired of seeing good homeowners and honest contractors lose out. This is how we make sure that doesn’t happen here.
What if my money disappears?
Every payment on RenovationRoute runs through a secure Stripe-powered escrow account. Funds are never sent directly to the contractor or RenovationRoute, they are held safely until milestones are approved by you. Both people always know where your money is, and you can see exactly when it is released. We do not touch your funds, Stripe does, under U.S. banking compliance.
What if my contractor flakes out or does bad work?
While we cannot guarantee the quality of work from every contractor. That being said the funds will stay in escrow until a resolutions is resolved. Contractors have to keep a high review or they will be removed. This is the best way to protect homeowners from contractors who do bad work or disappear at this point.
What if a homeowner doesn’t pay me?
For contractors, RenovationRoute eliminates the biggest pain: chasing payments. Before any work begins, escrow confirms that funds are deposited and available. Once milestones are marked complete and approved, payouts are automatically released to your bank account, no awkward conversations, no waiting on checks.
What if a homeowner does not approve the payout?
If a homeowner does not approve the payout then the issue has to be resolved with the customer. The good news is if there is a big disagreement the milestones help protect contractors from losing large sums of money. Make sure to have several milestones to protect yourself as a contractor.
Who’s behind RenovationRoute?
