How this works
Straight from the federal spending record
Every number above comes from the public USAspending.gov API, pulled in your browser when you run the search. Nothing is estimated or cached on our side.
The search covers federal contracts (definitive contracts, purchase orders, delivery and task orders, and BPA calls) coded to the NAICS code you pick, with the work performed in the state you pick. That is the place of performance, not where the contractor's office is.
Dollars are net obligations recorded during the fiscal year, so a contract that was cut back can pull a total down. The small business share counts contracts instead of adding up dollars, because net dollars include deobligations and can push a percentage past 100.
The largest contracts list shows contracts first signed during the fiscal year. Its dollar figures are what the government has obligated on each one to date, which can include money added after the year closed.
